To minimize the accumulation of sizeable nuclear contigs during assembly, all reads were subdivided based on sequence name (defined by the four letter library ID prefix in each name) and library insert size into four independent library subsets: Lib3kA, Lib3kB Lib8k, and Lib35k (supplementary table 1, Supplementary Material online).
