In brief, the proposed optimization framework considers for the tasks and states of the network: (i) the optimal selection and sizing of conversion, transfer and storage technologies, (ii) the capacity expansion for each technology over time, (iii) the inventory levels for storable states, (iv) the quantities of states converted or transferred through tasks, and (v) the optimal energy mix.
We calculated 95% confidence intervals on the median sizes of conversion tracts using table B11 of Altman (1990).
In Figure 5, there appear to be two discrete size classes of conversion tracts: those with a median size of ∼6.4 kb (range 1 21 kb) and those with a median size of 54 kb (range 36 121 kb).
The effects of bubble size on conversion are less obvious.

One difference between the experiments of Mazón et al. and our experiments is that the system used by Mazón et al. involves the interactions of ectopic repeats in which flanking heterology limits the size of the conversion tract.
Determine the direction and size of the conversion.
To begin, all you need to know is whether you're converting from a small unit to a larger unit or vice versa, as well as the size of the conversion you're making - in other words, whether your desired units differ from your initial units by 10 10 10 2, etc.
The median size of spontaneous CO conversion tracts was ∼10 kb; NCO conversion tracts were not examined in these studies.
Since the median size of mitotic gene conversion tracts is 6 8 kb (Lee et al. 2009; St. Charles et al. 2012), most of the conversion tracts that include the conditional centromere should not include marker 33.
