The pre-task involved situated prompting whereby learners collected the individual utensils and ingredients needed to prepare a dish.
For example, Barsalou (2012) and colleagues propose that conceptual representations are both dynamic and situated, arising from the learners' interactions with the world, interactions that are grounded in perception and action.
I show that learning to make and learning from making emerge together through a situated and embodied interaction among the learner, the materials, the tools and the object in-the-making.
Theoretically, they both explicitly stress the developmental, situated nature of the learning process and learners' meaning making and reflection based on their self-directedness and self-determination.
