'sir' is a word that is used in written English and is a formal way to address a male person.
An example sentence would be: 'Yes sir, I will get started on the project right away.'.

The notable successes of his SIRC staff and colleagues, past and present, are a fitting legacy.
Also arguing polystyrene's case has been the Styrene Information & Research Center (SIRC), which says that the styrene industry has invested more than $25m to advance scientific research on the substance.
