In order to determine how similar the two modality profiles of a particular item pair are, we computed the angle between their two vectors.
The data observed in the whole set of joints suggest that such predictive validity is of similar magnitude whatever the modality of the joint examination (ie, whether clinical or US evaluation).
Moreover, we expected the switch effect to be influenced by the similarity of the modality profiles; it should be larger for items with different modality profiles than for items with similar modality profiles.
