الخبر بالعربية Yemen Signs Action Plan to End Recruitment and Use of Children by Armed Forces SANAA, Yemen 14 May – In a landmark development for the protection of children, today, the Government of Yemen signed an action plan with the United Nations to end and prevent the recruitment of children by the Yemeni Armed Forces.
He laboured over the distinction between two kinds of action: sign action, or semiosis, and dynamic, or mechanical, action.
Both Moldova and Georgia are members of the Eastern Partnership and have signed action plans with the EU in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy, which have included the development of mobility partnerships and visa facilitation agreements (Cantarji and Mincu, 2013; Labadze and Tukhashvili, 2013).
Of these seven countries, six have signed action plans with the United Nations.
The SRSG-CAAC has in the past had some success working with armed groups, and comprehensively 13 ANSAs have successfully signed action plans.
All 48 of the armed groups currently listed for grave violations against children on the "list of shame" commit this practice, but only two have signed action plans.
The Secretary-General's Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG-CAAC) is mandated to work with all parties to conflict, including armed groups, to sign action plans, but unfortunately states often block such efforts.
Only seven governments are listed for this practice and six of those governments have signed action plans with the UN aimed at ending and preventing the recruitment and use of children in conflict.
In Central African Republic, we are working with three armed groups with whom we've signed action plans to release children from their ranks.
