New buildings or additions at hazardous sites or with hazardous structures can comply with the standards by taking simple steps like placing netting in front of windows or breaking up the glass surface visually with fritting — the placement of ceramic lines or dots on glass — which increases visibility for birds while not significantly obscuring the view outside.
It is now widely acknowledged that the complexity of molecular interactions taking place on the cellular level can significantly obscure the expected consequences of molecular processes characterized in vitro [ 30, 31].
However, to optimise the quality of CT images during PET-CT, it is important to have the patient's arms raised to avoid beam-hardening artefacts which can significantly obscure anatomical detail (Fig. 1).

Moreover, in those environments differences in lithofacies are obscured by a significantly reduced range of grain size distributions.
The barcodes of pricey objects – wine, beer, spirits, cosmetics – are deliberately obscured by stickers removed from significantly cheaper on-sale items.
These measures are useful, as they calculate the probabilities of false positives and false negatives separately; one may be significantly higher than the other, and this can be obscured in a single average error measure.
