The significant increase of activity for both reactions over ceria-supported Pt is here assigned to highly active sites at the platinum ceria boundary but also, to some extent, the oxygen storage and release function and dynamics of the transport of oxygen in the Pt/CeO2 system.
A significant increase of activity in CBL and BG was found in healthy volunteers during a constant torque task with visual feedback compared to a constant torque task without visual feedback.
By contrast, we found also significant increase of activity in the left DLPFC (area 9,46) but not in the left PMC (area 6) and temporal cortex (area 39).
Table 1 summarizes the expression trends observed for probe-sets that are mapped to the 77 miR-seeds displaying the most significant increase of activity in tumors.
The statistical analyses have shown a significant increase of activity levels of both MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the sera of breast cancer patients compared with control sera.
We tested all potential synchronies between the 8 ROIs that showed a significant increase of activity for inflected items (Fig. 3 a) and the rest of the bilateral frontotemporal network (23 ROIs; see also Supplementary Fig. 2).
The direct SPM contrast between faces and hands identified a significant increase of activity for faces at the same locations as had been identified in the baseline comparison (Fig. 2b).

A subsequent region of interest (ROI) analysis assessed whether brain activity in the parietal somatosensory region, that showed a significant increase of activity during BVF stimulation (Anders et al., 2004 a ), would show a significantly smaller increase during stimulation of the SVF.
It is unlikely that this cerebellar activity represents the positional discrepancy sensed by vision and kinesthesia (cf., Imamizu et al. 2000) because we observed no significant increase of activity in the cerebellum under the INCONG condition, where the discrepancy should be more prominent (Fig. 2 e – f ).
