However, the detected events appear to be drawn from a continuum of processes; hence distinctions between signal types were often ambiguous, with some events consisting of a sequence of all three types of events combined (Supplementary Fig. 2).
The duty cycle ("on-time" of signaling relative to rest) of both signal types is very low, but differs under the two ambient light conditions: for tremulation signals, duty cycle increases from 0.27% to 2.01%, but remains almost constant at 0.07% and 0.08% for calls, respectively.
Both of these signal types were considered upon scoring.
The relative proportions of these signal types were compared between the four study groups.
Specifically, the task-defined area centers were identified by searching a large fMRI dataset, acquired in a single scanner (a 1.5-T Siemens MAGNETOM Vision MRI scanner) for brain regions that reliably displayed significant activity when certain tasks were performed (e.g., button pressing) or certain signal types were expected (e.g., error-related activity).

After tuning different channels or selecting SD sources, it should be readily apparent to the viewer which signal type is which.
