By integrating the eQTLs data and the environmental correlation data, we examined whether eQTLs are enriched in signals of environmental correlation at the genome-wide level and compared their enrichment pattern with that of NS SNPs.
These additional observations suggest that the similar degree of enrichment in signals of environmental correlation is unlikely to be explained by their LD with each other.
For genes involved in signaling in immune system, eQTLs are significantly enriched in signals of environmental correlation for the subsistence category with binary individual factors, whose ERs are 1.44, 1.85, and 2.27.
Therefore, the most parsimonious explanation for the enrichment of eQTLs in signals of environmental correlation is the adaptive effect of regulatory variants, which could be eQTLs themselves or the underlying causal variants in strong LD with eQTLs.
Therefore, despite none of the individual loss-of-function variants reported a significant association with ABCA7 in this study, we were able to replicate two independent signals of the correlation of the ABCA7 gene with AD: the common variant and the aggregation of the loss-of-function variants.
Except for Gly and Trp, the amino acids showing significant correlations in Group 1 also exhibited significant correlation in Group 4. The signals of the correlations for Groups 1 and 4 (positive or negative) were coincident for all 20 amino acids.
For generalized discrete random signals, of arbitrary correlations among arbitrarily chosen samples, and also arbitrary distribution form, the short time prediction problem, in terms of the transition probability distribution, is theoretically considered, first for discrete time interval sampling.
In the core subnetwork, however, there was no strong evidence of negative correlation between the coselection scores and SPL, although marginal signal of negative correlation was found in EAS (supplementary fig. S5 A, Supplementary Material online, P = 0.02, supplementary table S3, Supplementary Material online).

However, as observed for all eQTLs, this group of eQTLs is also significantly enriched in signal of environmental correlation (supplementary fig. S11, Supplementary Material online, P = 1.76e − 09, 2.21e − 08, 2.84e − 07, respectively, for three tail cutoffs).
