The Imp1 expression pattern we observed was reminiscent of the gradient of Wnt signaling observed in the telencephalon (Machon et al., 2007; Mutch et al., 2010); furthermore, the Imp1 loss-of-function phenotype in the telencephalon was reminiscent of the phenotype observed in mutants with reduced Wnt signaling (Mutch et al., 2010).
