Capric acid (C10 0) reduced HWP1 transcript level 8 times more than S. boulardii extract, which contains many other compounds (UPLC, GCMS data, not shown) that may have an effect opposite to that of capric acid (C10 0).
We, however, found several olfactory receptor (ORs) transcripts (data not shown) that may have originated from a minor contamination of our samples by snake MOE.
There was a concomitant decrease in junB levels and AP-1 activity (data not shown) that may partially explain these decreases.
