In Fort Collins, there are the mansard roofs, the jig-jag rhythm of irregular shop facades, lacy Victorian ironwork and the distinctive fish-bone street plan, where side streets feed into a main artery.
Mark Trinder, ITV's sales director, said: "The expansion of the Coronation Street set has given us a great opportunity to feature branded shop facades as more of Weatherfield is opened up to viewers.
For the moment, the mall finds itself shrouded in greater obscurity than ever, as construction scaffolding hides shop facades and plywood covers sidewalks while work goes on to retool its overall look.
Children play on green open spaces framed by graffitied walls, and behind the colourful shop facades there are pockets of poverty.

A short drive through the leafy forest of Cumbernauld, a town just outside Glasgow, leads to a dusty lot where an 18th century version of Wilmington, N.C., has been built for the fourth season of "Outlander". Wooden shop facades line streets that dead-end into the dirt and promise wares residents would have needed in Colonial times.
Birgitta Dahlberg works at Centrum, a clothing store that has been a landmark in the city since 1925, thanks to a distinctive neon sign that curves around the shop's facade.
"In Beverly Hills, Ralph wanted a light, airy feeling to go with Southern California". The California shop's facade will be of cast stone with Georgian style, stone columns, mahogany framed and shuttered windows and blue canvas awnings.
