Only 3% are open around the clock, and two-thirds of them are hotels, which were entitled to 24-hour licences under the previous regime.The battleground is now shifting from the mean streets to suburban living rooms.
As a result, the adjusted mean has shifted from the mean in the original observed distribution (Carriquiry and Camañio-Garcia 2006).
Once this unimodal asymmetry has been established in young fishes, the transition to antisymmetry could involve asymmetric growth and remodelling of the jaw [ 15], leading to a shift away from the mean and an accentuation of the tails of the distribution.
With optimum traits, selection pressure shifts gradually from the mean to the variance when approaching the optimum.
