The Israelis who died were observing seasonal rites of their own -- going to the polls in the town of Beit Shean to take part in an election of Likud party leadership, or starting a Hanukkah vacation at an Israeli-owned beachfront resort in Mombasa, Kenya.
Tonight, residents of Beit Shean rallied in front of the headquarters, chanting angry slogans and waving stickers that read, "No Arabs, no terror".
At least six Israelis were killed in that incident, in the town of Beit Shean in the northern Jordan Valley.
From Scotland, where he is competing in a European tour event this week, Els wrote a Twitter message about Shean as he followed her round of one-under-par 70.
"The eastern borders of the Palestinian state, stretching from the Dead Sea, through the Jordan Valley and the central highlands, to the borders of Bisan [Beit Shean in northern Israel] are Palestinian-Jordanian borders and will remain so," he said.

Today's violence began when an Israeli patrol was ambushed on a border road near Beit Yosef, an agricultural cooperative several miles north of Beit Shean, the army said.
