EPPs are invasive procedures with the potential for contact between the skin of the health care worker and sharp surgical instruments, needles or sharp tissues, in body cavities or poorly visualised/confined body sites [ 1].
These procedures include those where the worker's gloved hands may be in contact with sharp instruments, needle tips or sharp tissues (spicules of bone or teeth) inside a patient's open body cavity, wound or confined anatomical space where the hands or fingertips may not be completely visible at all times".
In the presence of calcifications, routine reconstructions of an additional dataset with a sharper tissue convolution kernel and at bone window settings (window width around 1,400 HU, window center around 500 HU) help in reducing blooming artefacts from calcifications.
