Upon binding of GDF-5 R57A to BMPR-IAEC, the backbone atoms of residues Phe97 to Val104 (finger 2) and Lys29 to Ile38 (ω-loop in finger 1) of GDF-5 R57A moved up by 5.5 Å towards BMPR-IA, although residues in the very tips of finger 2 shared no contact with BMPR-IA.
