While in Paris, he worked on some mathematical problems and derived the sine law of refraction, which facilitated his work on formulating mathematically the shapes of lenses (later published in the Dioptrics).
Differences between the zonular distribution (Fig. 1Ab) and lens matrix composition account for the shape of the lens being more convex in the posterior than the anterior on radii of curvature in the fixed preparation (Fig. 1Aa).
Normalized index distributions for these and some other p values are shown in Fig. 3. Bahrami and Goncharov [ 26] used Eq. (1) as the basis for the development of a geometry-invariant lens model, in which the iso-indicial contours always mimic the external shape of the lens, so that the normalized index profile is the same in all directions from the lens center.

Alternatively, if the change in the shape of the lens is large in comparison to the decrease in the refractive index of the lens, the overall refractive error will result in myopia.
Lens eyes focus an image either by physically moving the lens toward or away from the retina or by using eye muscles to adjust the shape of the lens.
However, understanding the means by which the shape of the lens responds to contraction or relaxation of the CM, and the mechanisms for precisely transforming the lens configuration, is complicated by a lack of innervation within the lens itself.
For zooming, changes in the shape of liquid lens elements replace the mechanical parts that shift the relative positions of glass or plastic lenses.
It could be suggested that if the change in the shape of the lens is small, hyperopia will predominate during hyperglycemia due to a decrease in the refractive index of the lens.
