More than 350 homes are at risk of sewer flooding.
Severn Trent said it invested £602.1m in the business, compared with £555.4m the previous year, to cut sewer flooding by 20% and supply interruptions by 45%.
Earlier this month Ofwat accused Thames of "underspend" on sewer flooding, failing to invest in new sewage treatment and not maintaining its waste water network.
Karen Gibbs of the Consumer Council for Water said: "Sewer flooding is particularly distressing for customers, and something we have pressed the companies to address as a priority".
Sir Tony Redmond, London and South East chair for the Consumer Council for Water, said: "Sewer flooding is an incredibly distressing experience for people and that's why it is really important that companies respond quickly and effectively when it occurs.
The fitted copulas are used, through the Monte Carlo simulation method, to generate synthetic rainfall events for system performance analysis in terms of sewer flooding and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) discharges.
The quango has revealed that investigations are under way into 30 priority areas — including Glasgow, Prestwick, Coatbridge, Saltcoats and Montrose — where external sewer flooding could threaten schools, hospitals and homes.
The money will be spent accordingly: £12.9bn to maintain and replace pipes and treatment works; £4.6bn to improve drinking water and the environment; £2.7bn to secure future provision of enough water, and capacity to treat sewage; £1.1bn to improve service to customers, like reducing pressure problems and sewer flooding; and £0.9bn to deliver big projects such as large sewers.
