Diet modulations leading to NAFLD include the methionine and choline deficient diet-fed mice [ 13] and high fat diet (HFD) mice [ 14, 15] wherein, NAFLD severity varies with diet composition, duration of feeding, species, strain, and gender of animals.
More recently ADE-like phenomenon was observed in Pseudomonas aeruginosa wherein increased severity of respiratory infections was found to be associated with elevated levels of IgG2 against the bacterial O antigen [ 22].
In contrast to other studies, wherein broadening the definition of depression to include depression of lesser severity and dysthymia improved the sensitivity of depression screening instruments [ 23, 36], our study demonstrated that sensitivity was not improved through this maneuver.
Our observations are in accordance with an earlier study conducted by McCusker and colleagues [ 20], wherein an increased number of room changes was associated with increased delirium severity amongst hospitalized elderly patients.
Although these clinical characteristics do not affect the clinical outcomes used to determine therapeutic cure in the current study, there is a consistent trend wherein patients who failed were more likely to have co-morbidities and that severity of illness that would predispose them to a poorer clinical outcome.
Interestingly, several activating mutant alleles of NRBP1 homolog Drosophila Madm (Mlf1 adapter molecule) 3 T4 (Q46*); 2U3 (C500*); 3G5 (Q530*); 7 L2 and 3Y2 (that disrupts splice donor site of first exon) are known, wherein alternative translation start codons is similarly suggestive for a varying degree of pinhead phenotype severity associated with the mutant alleles [ 53, 63].
As anti-RNAP are associated with a more severe disease phenotype, our findings may be affected by survival bias - wherein those with anti-RNAP-related complications such as renal crisis may have succumbed prior to enrolment, leading to an underestimation of the prevalence of the antibody and the severity of its associations.
