Excess mortality for hip and clinical vertebral fractures was assumed for the first and subsequent year [ 51].
To compare the impact of different assumptions regarding these hazard ratios, hazards provided from the Global model were used in a sensitivity analysis (HR "no event": 2/HR "non-fatal MI" first year: 6/HR "non-fatal MI" second and subsequent years: 3/HR "non-fatal stroke" first year: 7.43/HR "non-fatal stroke" second and subsequent years: 3) [ 14].
