The latest massive emission from the Dylan vaults comes in the form of a 36CD box set, The 1966 Live Recordings, containing every known recording from his tours of the US, Europe and Australia.
However, it is included on King Biscuit Time, a Sonny Boy Williamson II collection by Arhoolie Records, and a James box set, The Early Classic Recordings 1951 1956.
But, curiously, what becomes apparent as you follow the band's arc through the eight albums (plus one double CD of B-sides and outtakes) corralled in the new box set, The Complete Studio Recordings, is that as Ferry gradually asserts total control over the band, the music becomes less characterful.
