While implementation of CPOE may have difficulties and unintended consequences [ 46, 47], smooth and effective implementation of these systems can be enhanced by building a large number of order sets (checklists) for therapies and management.
Order sets, checklists and templates can be considered "low hanging fruit" and they suit the purposes of all stakeholder groups by providing standardization and gathering structured data that can serve multiple purposes.
In this study, data sets, checklists, and structured reporting protocols for pathologic examination and reporting of cutaneous melanoma were analyzed by an international panel of melanoma pathologists and clinicians with the aim of developing a common, internationally agreed upon, evidence-based data set.
