There is no evidence that the full $20,000 from confiscated property sold at auction in September was ever deposited into the Sequestration Fund in Richmond.
"Under sequestration, funding reductions would decelerate the nation's transition into a clean energy economy, and could weaken efforts to become more energy independent and energy secure," he wrote.
Forced by the sequestration funding cuts to scale back their voucher programs, state and local housing agencies were helping about 100,000 fewer families in June 2014 than in December 2012, before the cuts took effect (see graph).
"While some cleanup activities at Hanford may be impacted as a result of sequestration funding levels, the Department and its contractors will continue to ensure that operations and facilities will be maintained to protect our workforce, the public, and the environment," spokeswoman Keri Fulton said in an email.
(Unfortunately CAMEO fell victim to Congressional "budget sequestration" funding cuts and was ended in 2012).
That amount is $1 billion higher than it was after sequestration cuts kicked in last year, but it's also $714 million lower than the agency's pre-sequestration funding.
The budget proposal Obama presented last week for 2013-14 would restore those cuts and provide an additional 4.5% increase above pre-sequestration funding.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services would fare less well; Obama proposed a $225.8-million 225.8-millionfrom the $220 million it gets under sequestration, budgetill 3% less than the pre-sequpstration froming of $233 million.
The current spending power of the NEA and NEH is even with their pre-sequestration funding in actual dollars, but the money they're granting this year buys less than it did in 2011-12.
