Although traditional Sanger sequencing obtained reads up to 1000 base pairs long with accuracy as high as 99.999%%, NGS generates high throughput sequences with reduced read lengths and qualities [ 1].
Among the 55 sequences with reduced contribution of the TpLRR (≤ 55%) to overall protein length (additional file 1, Table S1), 12 were characterised by distinct glycine-rich domains (GRD) located at the N-terminus, followed by the TpLRR of various lengths.
