Driven by the built-in electric field, the photogenerated electrons and holes can be separated at the interfaces of the as-formed Bi2WO6/Ag2S heterostructures.
As demonstrated in Figure 1b, the CIGS interlayer (nanoparticles here) with high absorption coefficient (about 105 cm-1) itself also absorbs small part of incident light, and the excitons generated in both the P3HT and CIGS nanoparticles separate at the interfaces of both CIGS/PCBM and P3HT/PCBM more efficiently than at the interface of the P3HT/PCBM only in conventional polymer cells.
This result reflects that the photon-generated charges could be effectively separated at the perovskite/CdSe interface.
First of all, we measure the connectivity of the TiO2 particles, i.e., the fraction of TiO2 connected with the electrode.[ 16] In this kind of solar cell, the electron hole pairs are photo-generated in the polymer layer, and they separate at the TiO2 P3HT interface.
When this SWNT enriched polymer composite was used as the active layer of an X-ray detector, it efficiently separated charges at the interface between the SWNTs and polymer, preventing recombination of X-ray-induced excitons.
This creates electron hole pairs, which ideally separate at the polymer metal oxide interface and which can be extracted to produce a photocurrent, Pc.
From the BSE image and elemental mapping it is apparent that the older and newer painting layers are separated at their interface that could lead to detachment (Fig. 14c, d).
When the hole and electron pairs were also generated and separated on the interface of WO3, electrons at the CB of WO3 migrated to CB of TiO2 and fullerene, and holes at the VB of WO3 migrated to VB of TiO2 and fullerene [33].
Therefore, it is impossible for the two components, i.e., the matrix and short fiber, to separate at their interfaces when the composite is loaded or heated.
