She sought a "souvenir with a sensual kick" for the museum's current show of works by the German painter Otto Dix.
That initiative hailed products -- Gerber steak knives, Aalto vases -- that toed the museum's sensual modernist line: clean forms to suggest clean living; no populist politics, please.
