Efforts should be concentrated on enhancing and sustaining funding, focusing on capacity building, promoting research careers, prioritizing funding for studies on mental health systems and burdensome conditions, sensitizing policy-makers to the burden of mental disorders, and ultimately improving scientific research and its dissemination.
The results of the study should sensitize policy makers and managers to these distorting effects.
