Lack of sensitivity of the birth certificate may also explain why several potential risk factors that have been suggested in previous studies were not confirmed in this study.
Among occupations and industries with 10 or more workers by interview, sensitivity of the birth certificate information ranged from 35%to100%0% for occupational groups and 55% to 100% for industrial sectors.
Among the paternal occupational groups with 10 or more workers by interview, sensitivity of the birth certificate ranged from 35% for health care support occupations to 100% for health diagnosing and treating practitioners and for military-specific occupations (Table 4).
