"Sensation and Sensibility: Viewing Gainsborough's Cottage Door," Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, through Dec. 31.
THE Yale Center for British Art, charged on this side of the Atlantic with preserving the stiff upper lip of British cultural traditions, has revealed another accomplished and nicely appropriate historical survey exhibition with "Sensation and Sensibility: Viewing Gainsborough's Cottage Door".
Yale Center for British Art -- Equally scholarly, "Sensation and Sensibility: Viewing Gainsborough's Cottage Door" parcels some of the 18th-century English painter's "Cottage Door" paintings and other period works treating the subject of rural life.
So is the sensibility on view.
The views of a fifth of respondents with at least a member of each of the sample groups were clearly aligned with the ' cultural sensibility' model view of 'cultural diversity' [ 32].
