"self-serving greed" is a correct and usable phrase in written English
It can be used to describe someone's behavior or actions that are motivated by their own personal gain or benefit, without consideration for others. Example: The CEO's decision to lay off hundreds of employees was driven by self-serving greed, rather than what was best for the company as a whole.
Rather, it has become an Anglo-Saxon social norm permitted by the ideology of "meritocratic extremism", in essence, self-serving greed to keep up with the other rich.
