The position outlined in the present paper is somewhat different: it is proposed that, in essence, consciousness is a sense of self, perceived during a state of awareness.
Injury was found to be very significantly correlated with both increase of disability and decrease of self perceived quality of life, even after controlling the confounding effect of co-morbidities occurrence, while disability showed very significant negative correlations with quality of life in both injured and non-injured groups.
