Other factors we identified as influencing the help-seeking duration were the distance to the nearest hospital, lack of money for travels and care, presence of co-morbidities such as HIV/AIDS, and perceived personal risk to cervical cancer.
Univariate analysis showed that significant predictors of symptom resolution were: the type of presenting symptom, its perceived seriousness, the urgency with which the participant believed they should seek help, duration of symptoms and baseline QoL (table 3).
