In need of serious intervention, I took myself to a lecture by Richard Wiseman, the author of "59 Seconds: Think a Little, Change a Lot".

The reason The One Show was talking about self-help books was, I imagine, because a psychologist called Richard Wiseman has just written a self-help book called 59 Seconds: Think a Little, Change a Lot, which argues that self-help books don't work.
In those 60 seconds, think of every memory that you can.
During those twenty seconds, think about all the trouble that your brother deals with everyday- all the criticism and bullying for things he can't help.
If you are about to say something mean and insulting, wait ten seconds, think of being nice, and give that person a nice comment about his/her clothes, shoes, etc. Offer to help the person.
