TiVo recently announced partnerships with NBC Universal and Carat, a media-buying agency, to provide second-by-second viewership data and demographic ratings information collected from a sample of 20,000 TiVo subscribers.
Under the agreement, NBC Universal also purchased a rating service from TiVo that provides a second-by-second viewership rating on the commercials.
The move is a significant first step in growing the popular sport in the U.S., which has the second highest viewership of cricket in the world behind only India.
CNN came in second in viewership, with MSNBC coming in third.
