Rudist biostromes were preserved in seaward areas of these protected shallow environments of overall moderate to low hydrodynamic gradient, which was punctuated by storms.
Based on my past experience and my investigation to date of this property, it is my opinion that the area seaward of the revetment at 3822 Pacific Coast Highway, Faria Beach, as well as all the area seaward of the revetments built to protect the Faria Beach community, if not public owned, has been impliedly dedicated to the public for passive recreational use.

The observed subsidence pattern is met for 25 km ≤ d < 40 km; subsidence on the land area increases seaward.
However, many other authors have successfully used the standard initial condition (v_0 x) = 0) to fit data both landward and seaward of the rupture area (Bletery et al. 2014; Gusman et al. 2012; Hooper et al. 2013; Satake et al. 2013).
Viscoelastic relaxation of the mantle wedge produces eastward (seaward) motion across the entire area, uplift of the onshore Pacific coastal region and offshore area, and minor subsidence of the Japan Sea coastal region (Fig. 4b).
A tsunami waveform inversion study (Baba and Cummins, 2005) indicated that the 1946 Nankai coseismic rupture off Cape Shiono, Kii Peninsula, propagated anomalously seaward, compared to adjacent areas (Fig. 1).
The fault system identified in this study is located at the seaward edge of the rupture area (Yagi, 2011) or consistent with the maximum rupture area (JMA, 2011; Shao et al., 2011) (Fig. 1(a)).
