There are multiple variables and policy choices involved in planning for any of the health professions and, because of scope overlap, contemporary workforce planning almost inevitably has to involve planning for separate professions and other staff groups, simultaneously.
Based on this significant scope overlap, we re-examined the providers associated with the current processes and considered potential alternative providers for each stage of the centralized intake process to improve access (Table 1 last column).

[CM] Evidently such concerns around overlapping practice scopes relate to the issue of training standards, which will be discussed in greater detail further on.
