"At St. Peter's College, our social mission has always been about inclusion and social promotion for all people," said Lew Livesay, a professor of English at the school and moderator of the college's Indian-Pakistani Culture Club, of which Mr. Thakore is a member.
He schooled the moderator on ancient history and said, "A room without a book is like a body without a soul".
At 71, he is extroverted in the way of a school drama club moderator, a position he has held for 16 years.
Mr. Martin says that when members began violating the policy against identifying crowd members and circling them as if they were suspects — as was the case with two innocent Boston high school students — the moderators shut it down.
Effect modification by gender, age and baseline OW/OB and adiposity category was explored by adding an interaction term between the moderator and school type (intervention versus control).
These findings endorse the contention that gender is a significant moderator of school-based energy balance behaviour interventions, which appear to typically work better for girls than boys [ 54].
"I was the moderator for the school newspaper," he said.
