"They say one new light, but it just opens the door to more," said Roger Pugliese, a film producer and chairman of the Topanga Association for a Scenic Community.
In what is by all accounts one of the biggest and oldest juried events of its kind in the country, some 300 artists are again scheduled to display their work along the streets of this scenic community in the southeastern part of the state.
Through the blasting of rock, dredging of rivers and lakes and plain old digging, the 425-mile steel pipe would start at the Canadian border on Lake Erie, snake along the Southern Tier, tunnel under the Hudson River and traverse about 32 miles of some of Westchester County's most scenic communities before ending in this densely populated city.
"Being a scenic coastal community, they said no way," said Bob Ebersole, the pastor of United Methodist.
"It seems like BP doesn't care," said Euris DuBois, the police chief of Grand Isle, a scenic coastal community popular with tourists in the summer.
In the 1980s, David Gore murdered six women in the scenic shore community of Vero Beach.
Another RAD canvasser, Justin Roshak, a 24-year-old working in the scenic New Hampshire communities of Haverhill and Laconia, said he's also found that Ayotte's ties to Trump worry voters.
Or that at least is how outsiders, most of whom only drive past the neighbourhood along either Interstate 110 or the ironically named Scenic Highway, view the community.
In particular, they provide additional support for the contribution of natural-appearing landscapes with a complex pattern of edges to a community's scenic quality.
M-88 zig-zags south and east along Scenic Highway to the community of Central Lake.
"Despite the rockets in the past seven years, there has actually been a 35percentt increase in population -- people move here because of the quality of life, the scenic nature, and good community atmosphere," she explains.
