In our series, we document for the first time by CT scan examination the presence of a swallowed needle inside a Meckel's diverticulum (Fig. 11).
Following induction chemotherapy (every 3 weeks for 3 cycles) with doxorubicin (40 mg/m2 on day 1), cisplatin (50 mg/m2 on day 1), vincristine (0.6 mg/m2 on day 3), and cyclophosphamide (700 mg/m2 on day 4), a second chest CT scan examination showed regression of the mediastinal and pleural masses (Fig. 2b).
During the study period, patients at high risk at the time of diagnosis were referred for bone scan examination before treatment decisions as part of the clinical routine.
Therefore, airway fibroscopy should be discussed as soon as possible for all EGC patients at the time of CT scan examination or esophageal management.
With clinical follow-up in 69 melanoma patients 81 regional lymph nodes were detected by ultrasound B-scan examination, nine of whom appeared to be palpable.
However, because the primary objective was to establish an observable correlation between disc height increase and decreased LBP, a CT scan permitting examination of the outline of the intervertebral discs at high resolution provided sufficient measurable evidence[ 14].
Clinically, the findings underscore the importance of close medical monitoring of patients treated with lithium, especially for more than several years, and consideration of renal scanning examinations for cysts and tumors among those with clinically identified, progressive impairment of renal function.
We have retrospectively evaluated a consecutive cohort of prostate cancer patients who underwent whole-body scan examinations both at the time of diagnosis and later on at follow-up after hormonal therapy according to the standard-of-care procedure.
