One hundred and nine computed tomographic (CT) scans were randomly obtained from Hubli Scan Centre, Hubli, Karnataka, India.
Patients were imaged using a '5 line raster' scan centred on the fovea (4096 A-scans, scan length 6.0 mm), which consists of five closely spaced horizontal lines, a 'Macular Cube 200×200' scan (200 B-scans× 200 A-scans, covering a retinal area of 6.0×6.0 mm) and a 'Macular Cube 512×128' scan (128 B-scans×512 A-scans, covering a retinal area of 6.0×6.0 mm).
Each CT acquisition was preceded by a scout-view (80 kV, 10 mA, anteroposterior) to set PET/CT scan limits: in the static acquisition of the pelvis, the scan superior border coincided with the upper portion of the iliac bone and the pubic symphysis had to stay on the scan centre, in order to include prostate and regional lymph node, including the inguinal ones.

The brief half-life (T ½ = 2 min) of 15O limits the availability to PET scanning centres with an on-site cyclotron and necessitates efficient procedures and precise timing but gives the advantages of a low radiation dose (1.1 μSv/MBq for a standard 70-kg adult [35]) and the possibility of repeated scanning after a short waiting time.
