The quartet has just released a fine recording of the First and Third on EMI, and it offered a sample of that disc -- the complete Third and the bittersweet Andante Cantabile from the First -- before the intermission of its concert on Monday.
Samples of three different disc sizes were fried at four oil temperatures between 150 and 180 °C.
