For 5 of the 74 species in our sample, we failed to successfully amplify and sequence atp9, and an additional 9 species appeared to have multiple atp9 copies.
However, given the relatively small difference hypothesised to exist between the FairMed and TENS, the sample sizes required to successfully demonstrate superiority or to include a third intervention group were considered prohibitive.
There are also models which require only a small sample of blood to successfully complete a reading, something that diabetics who must monitor blood sugar once daily or more will find helpful.
Another serious issue is that while both molecular and network biomarkers can be used to distinguish disease samples from normal samples, neither are guaranteed to successfully identify pre-disease samples due to their static nature.
The smallest sample to which we have successfully applied the direct DNA quantification method with sufficient reproducibility is the 6.75 dpc (days post coitus) mouse embryo which consists of approximately 5,000 cells.
Because of the rare nature of this disease and the limited availability of fresh-frozen tumour samples, it is essential to successfully utilise FFPE samples to obtain high-quality data from these tumours.

When mixed with lithium borate flux in a Knudsen effusion cell, this tracer spike and a sample to be dated can be successfully fused and degassed of Ar at <1000 °C.
