For two matrices (lettuce and mandarin, fortified with 140 pesticides, triplicate experiments) the solid phase materials (GCB/PSA, relative amounts similar to previous experiments) were added directly to the centrifuge tube containing the sample, sodium sulfate, and the extraction solvent (to which 20% toluene had been added).
