At the center of his show is something not so new: a salon-style suite of color photographs, mostly of young men, the sort of thing that Wolfgang Tillmans has made familiar and that a young artist like Slava Mogutin, in a show at Rare Gallery in Chelsea through May 8, pushes in specific erotic directions.
The complex has its own gas station, grocery store, gym, hair salon, library, guest suites (for residents' visitors), and a full-service restaurant.
A mini-salon within the suite had hairstyling by Surface Haircare, facials by Sevique Skincare, brow threading by S.H.A.P.E.S. brow bar, sunless tanning by Cocoa Brown Tan.
While average people fill their tanks at a pump and a small store, those admitted to GP will roll up to a four-story mansion sporting salons, conference rooms and hotel suites.
