The models developed here are not, actually, linked to this particular scenario, which we adapt for the sake of concreteness; however, co-selected ensembles of RNA molecules and some form of compartmentalization are salient conditions.
The salient conditions were: Advion Nanomate 'A' chip set at -2.1 kV with zero PSI head pressure, resulting in a flow rate of approximately 300 nl/min, and the ICR set to attain a resolution of 200,000 (at m/z 400, 10% valley definition).
On half the trials, the decoy was less salient than the target (target salient condition) and on the other half, the target was less salient (decoy salient condition).
