GM is seeking to bring in pay cuts for US salaried staff of between 3%and7%7%, while executives there may see salaries cut by 10%.
For example, the executives might only receive certain perquisites, or the salaried staff might have a life insurance benefit, based on a certain salary multiplier, whereas, perhaps, the hourly staff receives a flat amount, or a lower multiplier.
There is no salaried staff.
We have 4,300 permanent salaried staff.

Salaried staff working in buildings often put in many hours above their contracted schedules.
The board will meet next month to consider further drastic cuts of about 25% of jobs, including salaried staff.
"Most of the cases involved salaried staff taking bribes or commission on property or land sales," said Mr. Sayyah.
One way to do this would be a service charge, as practiced in Europe, put toward paying a salaried staff.
While full-time, salaried staff continue to strike over the 1% pay rise and prepare for a marking boycott, the issues underpaid GTAs face go largely unnoticed.
