Watching the very first shot, where ordinary, sweet, and sad action in a bar is both parsed with a laser-analytical angle and virtually framed by a voice from offscreen, I thought I was watching the greatest film in the history of cinema, and the entire sequence, with its quietly heightened intensity of ordinary degradation, does nothing to disappoint.
There are two large lessons that should not be lost in these sad actions.
