According to the phase shift angle vs. rsp curve, it could be concluded that the different force exerting on the epoxy matrix or on the PB-rich domain might result in the height and phase image reversion.
At present, we do not know the molecular mechanism of distortion, or what feature of the Rsp locus makes it a target (i.e. if it is sequence-specific).
It will be interesting to compare the population genetics of Rsp between species where it is and is not a target of meiotic drive.
The W3C RSP community group adopts it, together with LARS [32], as a reference model to define the semantics of RSP query language.
