At the end of a four-day patrol rotation, relations between young Americans and the Iraqis tend to deteriorate, according to one officer, into "guys kicking dogs, yelling at grown men twenty years older than they are, and pushing kids into parked cars to keep them from following and bothering them".
The proposed approach allows to establish the bending moment – rotation relations for both serviceability limit state (SLS) and ultimate limit state (ULS) and thereby a tunnel lining design consistent with Eurocode 2. The practical implications for the design concept of tunnel linings are discussed.
A more accurate model of the moment-rotation relation is also suggested.
